THE DRESSING OF RASULULLAH (PBUH)

An example of his guidance was that the prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, used to wear whatever clothes were available: of wool, of cotton, or of linen. He used to wear the most beautiful clothes he found. He also used to dress up elegantly for meeting delegations; in accordance with what is appropriate for him and them, and in compliance with their ranks.
White clothes were the best that he, (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear; and he urged his Companions to wear them. He favored the traditional long shirt best.
His shirt was long-sleeved to the wrist. Wearing clothes above the heels is an example of his Sunnah. he said : "No good lies in what is below them," and he interdicted it. He also used to wear two pieces of cloth wrapped round the upper and the lower parts of the body, drawers, leather sock-like articles and footwear.
Sallal lahu alaihi wa alihi wa sallam.
